Clear Licenses in Timeslips Using the Station Administrator
If you have a situation in which you cannot access Timeslips because you get a message that there are no licenses available, you can use the Station Administrator to clear licensing. All licenses can be cleared provided that no one is Timeslips.
Licenses get taken when people log in for the first time. They don't release automatically. Normally this is not an issue unless people are using remote access. Remote access causes a new license to be taken every time as Timeslips sees each remote login as a new user, so eventually you run out of licenses. Clearing the licenses fixes the issue.
- 1. Open Station Administrator by going to Start, All Programs, Timeslips, Station Administrator. The first screen that you will see will show whether anyone is currently accessing the database. Do not try to clear licenses if any logins show in this window. Instead, have everyone exit Timeslips.
- 2. Click on Options, Licenses In Use. Click “Clear All”. You will see a message asking if you want to continue. Click Yes. You will get a second message asking you to make sure that all users are out of the database. Click Yes.
- 3. When the process completes, you will see that all licenses are now unassigned. Click Done.
