WHAT IS practice Management software?

Before the advent of personal computers, the only way to keep track of data relating to cases or matters was through a case notebook or a trial notebook. Such notebooks would be filled with preprinted, paper forms. Related data would also be written on index cards, scraps of paper and typed up. And the constant questions that echoed through the law office would be, “Who has the case file?” “Who took home the evidence binder?” “Where is the folder containing… ?”. Documents were everywhere – but never where they were needed.  Case management software can be used to organize data related to cases or matters – the documents, emails, relevant timelines or time tables, issues, legal authorizes, witness lists, etc. Data is placed in a central location for easy access by staff. Individuals are able in input information, which facilitates collaboration.
